Fellow Arctic 'Crossers : This was a difficult decision to make, but we are moving the famous ArcticCross.org website to a new "blog" style format. We have had many positive comments over the years about our site. Everyone seemed to appreciate that in a world of overly cluttered, but information-poor, sites, ours offered a simple, streamlined look. We also prided ourselves on timely race information, results, and useful facts. We promise to continue this tradition. However, we are excited about the possibility that this new format offers. The blog format will allow us to post updates quickly and painlessly. It will also allow us to provide you, the Alaska cyclocrosser, a method for giving us timely feedback and comments. An added bonus is that the cost of hosting the site will go down significantly. As you know, the lower our operations cost, the bigger the prize list! Please bear with us in the coming months as we make the transition. Ultimately this new site will be moved to the ArcticCross.org web address. Until then, we will maintain both the existing site and this new blog site. Thanks for your patience.

Hey Nick,
I think that this is a really great idea. It'll give other people the chance to add content (if they want to email it to you or someone else who can post on here) and will also make a place for everyone to discuss anything related to Arcticcross here in the comments section. Probably the biggest problem will be getting the word out that this is the new public forum for AK 'cross, but if we do a good job of making sure everyone knows what the new features of this format are and (most importantly) the new domain name, it should be a big success.
Josh
Thanks Josh. Yes, we will need to get the word out this year. I will be transfering the domain name sometime this spring, so that when folks go to www.arcticcross.org it will point them directly to the new site. I will be setting up the ability for others, including you, to send in posts as well. I'm excited about this, I think it will work out great.
Cheers.
